In 2011, Dr. Dunkley gained national recognition when she addressed a packed audience on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. During this Congressional briefing on the Family Engagement in Education Act, she emphasized the crucial role of family engagement in transforming urban schools and improving student achievement. Her insights and advocacy continue to shape educational policies and practices.

She holds a doctorate in Urban Education with a concentration in Organization and Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. Additionally, she has earned master’s degrees in Political Science and Education Leadership from St. John’s University and Columbia University, respectively. Her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Education, also from St. John’s University, laid the groundwork for her future endeavors.
